What is WebTst ?
WebTst is an open-source test management tool aimed at creating and managing user-centric testing. It's goals include:
- Provide a tool to assist site developers in adding new features to their sites in a controled fashion.
- Provide a tool to assist site testers in making sure of the proper functioning of the site.
- Provide a tool to assist site maintainers in making sure of the proper functioning of the site.
Why WebTst ?
Testing Web Sites could use as much automation as possible. There are a ton of options out there for Web Site testing. Hopefully WebTst will add something to the lot. WebTst does allow for a "security net" while developing sites. The need for test suites, end-user system testing drove the development of WebTst. Wanting to learn a bit more about mod_perl was also a development driver (ironically enough, mod_perl ended up being dropped as WebTst was further developed).
